Howie Klein: “Diane is clearly the candidate that has the ability to beat John James.”
Sterling Heights, MI — Today, Democratic candidate for Michigan’s 10th Congressional District Diane Young announced that she received the endorsement of Blue America PAC. Blue America has now joined a growing coalition behind Diane Young. They have joined the United Union of Roofers and Waterproofers Local 149, the Detroit Federation of Musicians, and the OPEIU Local 40. Young has also been endorsed by Warren City Council President Angela Rogensues, State Senators Mallory McMorrow and Rosemary Bayer. Young’s campaign has been the only campaign to announce dozens of key endorsements from local leaders and has been featured in the Detroit News and Macomb Daily.
“We are excited to endorse Diane because Congress needs a financial planner.” said Howie Klein, Founder of Blue America. “Diane has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to social security and tax policy that is missing in Congress. For 30 years she’s seen how disastrous policies in Washington have made working-class families’ lives more difficult. Diane will be a progressive voice in Congress and will fight on behalf of all working-class families. Diane is clearly the candidate that has the ability to beat John James.”
“I am incredibly honored to receive Blue America’s endorsement,” said Diane Young. “Our campaign is creating a grassroots movement here in the district and we are actively building a coalition to win in November. I am committed to fighting tooth and nail for seniors and working-class families. We need to make sure that we are protecting Social Security and not gutting it. We also need to make sure everyone is paying their fair share and that the middle class isn’t footing the bill for billionaires and corporations.”
The daughter of a secretary and a union carpenter, Diane Young grew up in Romeo where she was raised to work hard and always help others. Diane worked her way through school and became a financial planner. For over thirty years Diane has helped Michigan families like hers achieve their dreams. The business she started with a folding table and a phonebook has now helped hundreds of Michiganders buy homes, save for college, and plan for the future; as well as advise scores of small businesses on their growth and success. Diane now lives in Warren with her husband, in a family of proud union members. She still finds ways both big and small to help out our community.
